We know many of you were just getting back to your consistent facial schedule (we love seeing you every month), but sadly this most recent shutdown has abruptly put facials on hold. Of course, nothing will replace the adept hands of a skilled esthetician, but don’t be afraid to take matters into your own hands in the meantime.
International Orange Founder Melissa Ferst and IO estheticians share their top product recommendations to keep skin hydrated, exfoliated and radiant this winter.
It’s October and everywhere we look it’s all about Halloween. And for many of us, it is also the unofficial milestone at the end of Summer and Fall, leading to the mad rush of Thanksgiving and the Winter holidays. In honor of the ubiquitous Halloween decorations, we at IO can’t pass up the opportunity to write about masks. But for us, the masks we love aren’t the ones that cover you up for a spooky costume. Instead, we celebrate the ones that can restore and rejuvenate your skin, in spa and at home.
In our midst at IO is a chocolatier. And not just any chocolate. This is some of the most beautiful, hand-crafted chocolate we’ve ever enjoyed: the highest quality, fair-trade cacao blended exquisitely with hand-crafted Ghee. Our blog this month is the result of our discussions with Ryan, the creator and co-founder of Night of the Sun. We discuss his journey from spreadsheets to chocolate, his inspirations, working with friends, and what might be next. And it wouldn’t be the IO blog without singing its wellness praises!
We dive into summer with Melissa Ferst, founder of International Orange, and her 2019 Summer Skin picks and suggestions. Juggling three kids, International Orange, and crazy summer schedules means quick and nourishing routines that protect her skin all season long.
As a little girl spending summers in France, I remember my aunties and grandma lubricating this area thoroughly with sweet smelling oils before heading out to bask in the sun. A taut, firm lusciously glowing décolleté was coveted as a sign of health and youth.
Natalie B (SAN FRANCISCO) In the perfect partnership, IO brings the power of the Luzern oxygenation and hydration to this 75-minute specialty treatment. Whether you’re already a cult-like follower of the Luzern luxury brand or looking for a facial that achieves supple, dewy and bright skin, it’s all about the oxygen.
Wintertime. If you’re like us, just the word conjures up the sense of dryness, dehydration and dullness. But it’s time to rethink your routine and maintain – or bring back – your glow. Making winter adjustments to your nutrition, body work and skin care routines are just the trick to glowing skin (and of course the pampering might help banish winter blues!). In this three-part blog, we break down three strategies that will make a huge impact on your skin (and mental) health this season.
Melissa Ferst IO Founder Winter is an important time to take a close look at our home skincare rituals and make some adjustments. Cold weather combined with indoor heating systems can dry out our skin and when it’s cold we tend to drink less water. I keep my daily homecare ritual simple with a gentle but effective cleanser and mild exfoliation to prepare my skin for the deep hydration I need and almost always find in a face oil. And I make sure to hydrate inside and out, drinking lots of water and herbal (and yes, some caffeinated) teas all day long.
Alicia M. IO Esthetician + Summer Skin Goddess Summertime is well underway, and we at IO are fielding the seasonal questions from clients about sunscreen usage, summer skin care, antioxidants, and travel-friendly regimens! Whether you are headed for a quick getaway or the extended [and coveted] summer vacation, we’ve got great ideas for you. Diving right in--let's first discuss the free radicals that are wreaking havoc on our skin on a cellular level, and how, through use of key antioxidants we can combat their damage to our skin...
