Using specially-shaped stones, the IO estheticians bring this facial to life for our clients in a beautiful way. But what really is Gua Sha, and what do we know about the benefits to your face, neck and décolleté… and even your health?
It’s October and everywhere we look it’s all about Halloween. And for many of us, it is also the unofficial milestone at the end of Summer and Fall, leading to the mad rush of Thanksgiving and the Winter holidays. In honor of the ubiquitous Halloween decorations, we at IO can’t pass up the opportunity to write about masks. But for us, the masks we love aren’t the ones that cover you up for a spooky costume. Instead, we celebrate the ones that can restore and rejuvenate your skin, in spa and at home.
We hydrate, we eat well, we run, walk, swim, do yoga, exercise machines, weights, moisturize, exfoliate… the list can be exhaustive of all the things we do to take care of our bodies and skin … but how about regular treatments? By and large, we consider massages and facials to be a “treat” (it’s in the name “treatments” for goodness sake) but it’s time to consider them as crucial to our wellness.
Throughout the year we talk about WELLNESS AT IO, but this month we focus on the often-elusive MAKING TIME FOR REGULAR WELLNESS. We are featuring stories about the importance of making massages and facials a regular part of your wellness routine.
This week, we spoke with Lynda R., a long-time client of our monthly membership program (12 years!) and asked her about the program, why she likes it, and her favorite tips!
Get your Travel Glow On With Natalie This month at IO, we focus on your travel wellness. In this two-part blog, IO esthetician Natalie and IO massage therapist Kelly (both travel pros) share their favorite strategies for travel skin and body.
We dive into summer with Melissa Ferst, founder of International Orange, and her 2019 Summer Skin picks and suggestions. Juggling three kids, International Orange, and crazy summer schedules means quick and nourishing routines that protect her skin all season long.
As a little girl spending summers in France, I remember my aunties and grandma lubricating this area thoroughly with sweet smelling oils before heading out to bask in the sun. A taut, firm lusciously glowing décolleté was coveted as a sign of health and youth.

In this final installment of three winter skin strategies, we propose an assessment of your skin care routine. And it’s more than just your face and neck – you’ll want even your toes to glow! In December, Founder Melissa shared her top picks for winter skin care (see her blog). But this month, we want to go a little deeper. From cleansing to serums and balms, there are small adjustments to your skin care routine that can pack a glowing punch all season long.
In this second of three winter skin strategies, we tackle an often-overlooked component: body work and massage therapy. While massage therapy is important for relieving certain stresses, muscle aches, nerve pain, and general relaxation throughout the year, stepping up your routine in the winter months will help you achieve healthier, younger skin during the driest of months.
