Intelligent Peels

INTELLIGENT PEELS provide advanced exfoliation and deliver powerful antioxidants to protect, correct, and stimulate cell renewal.

IO INTELLIGENT PEELS

INTELLIGENT PEELS are formulated to address sun damage, acne, wrinkles, and hyper-pigmentation with Lactic, Salicylic, Glycolic and/or Retinol, depending on your skin type. Most people do not experience down time after the peel, but it is impossible to predict how your skin will respond. Please keep in mind that there may be temporary side effects, such as redness and flaking, when considering if the INTELLIGENT PEEL is right for you.

After your INTELLIGENT PEEL it is crucial for the health of your skin and the success of your peel to FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

  • use an SPF 40 or greater and avoid direct sunlight for at least 1 week
  • wait 4-7 days (or until all flaking has subsided) to resume regular use of Retin-A/other chemical exfoliants and to receive facial waxing
  • do not pick or pull the skin. Use only a gentle cleanser and avoid scrubbing
  • apply moisturizer to alleviate tightness/dryness as needed. In Fiore Fleur Vibrante is highly recommended
  • follow home treatment prescribed by esthetician

YOU MAY EXPERIENCE some degree of any of the following:

  • tightening and dryness of the skin that may last several days
  • redness and heat that feels like a mild/moderate sunburn. Can apply cool compress
  • a light flaking that may begin within 2-3 days after treatment which usually subsides within 7-10 days
  • bumpiness/roughness that may make the skin feel like sandpaper, usually lasting a few days
  • swelling (taking an antihistamine can help alleviate). Please contact IO for advisement
  • infrequently, a small scab or blister may develop (usually over a pre-existing lesion, such as acne or a scaly patch). Do not pick or tamper with spot. You can apply a topical ointment, such as Neosporin, and contact International Orange for advisement

YOU SHOULD NOT RECEIVE A PEEL if any of the following conditions apply:

  • active cold sores, warts, open wounds or sunburn
  • excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea
  • if you have taken Accutane within the past year or have received chemotherapy/radiation therapy
  • salicylic peel should not be performed if you are allergic to salicylates (i.e., aspirin) or are pregnant or lactating
  • have received cosmetic or resurfacing skin procedures such as injections (Botox, etc.) electrolysis, laser, chemical peel or microdermabrasion in the past 2 weeks
  • have received waxing or have used depilatory creams in the past week
  • have used Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, etc. in the last 7-10 days
  • have used over the counter products containing retinol in the past few days
